Traditional Tapestries often amaze modern art lovers with their bright, vivid colors of medieval times. A tapestry is actually a type of textile art, hand woven on a vertical loom. It is weft-faced weaving and is carried out in four stages – creation, warping, weaving, and finition. Creation is the first work that consists in the detailed drawing of the motif. After that production starts in the warping workshop. Warping is the weaving preparation. The third step is weaving. A tapestry is the outcome of the intersection of two kinds of threads, warp threads are laid out lengthways and crossways. Finition includes the final step of finishing the tapestry.
